Investment Banking

The decision to sell the company you’ve spent your entire life building from ground up is a big one. For the entrepreneurial family owner and operator, the very strong personal connection to the business extends way beyond income and product line and is almost always enmeshed with both the seller’s identity and purpose. Rarely can a business owner emerge from the sale or purchase of a business without paying a high emotional toll as they navigate their way through what can be a very tedious and complicated process.

With an approach that’s as educational and sensitive as it is strategic, John and his team of top investment bankers in Dallas, guide clients through the process of raising capital for growth, executing a sale of all or a portion of the business, restructuring and/or recapitalizing the business, and valuing the business for estate, tax and other purposes.

Additionally, GCP manages Southwest Mezzanine Investments (SMI), a series of two mezzanine funds with aggregate committed capital of $93.5 million. SMI targets direct investments of subordinated debt in $2-8 million increments. The fund invests in lower middle market companies headquartered in the Southwest who are seeking capital to accelerate growth, invest in working capital, and/or recapitalize their business. GCP is actively seeking investment opportunities out of SMI II, a $65 million fund raised in late 2005.
