Sunny Morris

Sunny Morris, President and Founder of Core 24, has always been fascinated by the world of entrepreneurship and the way businesses work, the products and services they create and the unique people that lead them. With a BA from UNT, Sunny began her career in database marketing with Epsilon (formerly DMDA), one of the leading customer relationship marketing firms in the world. While at Epsilon, under the leadership of an executive team schooled by MIT and Harvard, Sunny learned how to leverage technology in the very specialized, niche area of database marketing where she eventually worked with Fortune 500 clients who retained Epsilon to create and execute Customer Relationship & Loyalty Marketing programs.
Sunny then went on to join Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) as a District Sales Manager responsible for growing an $18M territory. During her time with RCCL, she re-energized a territory ranked 86th nationwide, moving it up on the RCCL Rank Report to seventh – in less than two years. Her strong marketing background coupled with her sincere desire to help travel agency clients increase revenue (and recoup costs from cut airline commissions) were her greatest weapons as she worked feverishly for 5 years as a sales manager. The travel perks were great, but it was eventually time for a new challenge.
That new challenge started when she found herself in Wick Allison’s office, owner of D Magazine, giving up all the perks that come with working at a global company to lead sales efforts for a brand new local business magazine called DCEO that they were about to launch. With nothing but a printout of the proposed magazine cover and a heap of enthusiasm, Sunny set out to put DCEO in the hands of top executives in the city of Dallas, positioning the magazine as a required marketing vehicle for companies that had B2B services to offer. Quarter after quarter Sunny worked tirelessly to hit sales goals, and helped develop DCEO into one of the most respected, successful regional business publications.
While at DCEO, Sunny became the ‘go to person’ when local executives needed recommendations on business resources, introductions and business development help. Over time it became clear to her that there was no ‘one place’ where executives could go for instant access to exceptional, trusted business resources which could help them in areas typically outsourced. After a lunch at Taco Diner with a local business expert who collaborated with Sunny on the Core24 concept and confirmed her idea that Dallas needed what is today Core24, an entrepreneur was born.
